Basketball Game Preview: Davenport Wolves vs. Floresville Tigers/Jaguars

The Davenport Wolves will face off against the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Davenport is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 85-21 victory over LBJ Austin. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Jaguars are ranked 1223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Floresville had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They blew past the Rockets 67-46.

Davenport has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Floresville, their win bumped their record up to 21-13.
