Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Princeton Vikings

The Franklin Wildcats will head out to face off against the Princeton Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Princeton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Franklin came up short against Monroe and fell 9-6. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly three runs.

Franklin saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Beeson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Connor Monk also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Princeton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Colerain.

Princeton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-4.

Franklin might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Princeton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
