Softball Recap: Astronaut Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Astronaut ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the University Titans 4-3. That's two games straight that the War Eagles have won by just one run.

Riley Miller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Arielys Rosado was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Astronaut and bumps their season record up to 2-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for University, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Astronaut will be playing in front of their home fans against Cocoa Beach at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Minutemen will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for University, they will head out on the road to take on Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
