Softball Game Recap: Princeton Tigers vs. Independence Patriots

Princeton extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-11 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Independence Patriots, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

As for Independence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

For Independence's part, Kassidy Bradbury was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Bradbury has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanah Stanley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Looking ahead, Princeton will venture away from home to face off against Van at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Independence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
