Western is 8-2 against Tipton since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. Western will be strutting in after a victory while Tipton will be coming in after a defeat.
Western is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Tuesday. They never let Eastern get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row dating back to last season.
The result came thanks to Kylie Miller's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Lucy George was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Brynley Erb was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two triples, three runs, and three RBI.
Western always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Tipton came up short against Kokomo on Tuesday and fell 11-7.
Ella Lobeck put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Lacey Bitner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Makenna Comer, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Western took their victory against Tipton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
