Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Ryken Takes a Loss

St. Mary's Ryken lost against Our Lady of Good Counsel back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Knights took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

St. Mary's Ryken got a good showing from Gavin Sherman, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the first time Sherman hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April.

At the plate, St. Mary's Ryken saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Michael, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Michael has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

St. Mary's Ryken's loss dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.

As of now, neither St. Mary's Ryken nor Our Lady of Good Counsel have any future games scheduled.
