After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clark, Chicago Academy was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 55-5 victory over the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cougars have posted since December 18, 2024.

Chicago Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Destiny Rodriguez out in front who posted 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rodriguez has scored at least a third of Chicago Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maribel Correa, who put up 12 points.

The win snapped Chicago Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-9 record. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Chicago Academy will welcome Noble Street College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Noble Street College Prep's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so Chicago Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them. Steinmetz College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
