Softball Recap: Hixson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Hixson came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Chattanooga Central Pounders, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Pounders since April 28, 2022.

Alexis Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Hixson's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connie Schalk-Lamb, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hixson's record now sits at 10-8. As for Chattanooga Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hixson beat the Pounders by a score of 3-1 later that day.
