Baseball Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Victorious

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic won the last time they faced Anclote and things went their way on Monday too. The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes walked away with a 6-1 win over the Anclote Sharks.

Noah Cartiglia looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has become a key player for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Dominic Zito was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Steele Thalleen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Anclote, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will take on East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anclote, they will challenge Indian Rocks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Rocks Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
