Heritage Leadership Academy's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Youngsville Academy Charter Firebirds 61-38. With that victory, the Fletchers brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heritage Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacob Winders, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Huston, who posted eight points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

Heritage Leadership Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Despite the loss, Youngsville Academy Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ayden Perry put up 18 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Strickland, who earned eight points and 11 boards.

The win snapped Heritage Leadership Academy's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record. As for Youngsville Academy Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Heritage Leadership Academy and Youngsville Academy Charter will both be playing Iron Academy the next time they take the court. The Firebirds will host the Swordsmen at 4:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026, while the Fletchers will host them at 5:15 p.m. on January 15, 2026.
