Soccer Game Preview: La Jolla Country Day vs. Pacific Ridge

The La Jolla Country Day Torreys will challenge the Pacific Ridge Firebirds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

La Jolla Country Day's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bishop's with a sharp 3-0 victory. The contest marked the Torreys' most dominant win of the season.

Robbie Taylor and Aidan DesRosiers-Kutchuk scored all three of La Jolla Country Day's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Pacific Ridge had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.1 goals) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 5-1 victory. Considering the Firebirds have won seven matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pacific Ridge pushed their record up to 14-2-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those four games. As for La Jolla Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8-2 record this season.
