Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brinley Hiatt and Ava Baxter Lead West Rowan to Victory

West Rowan's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Salisbury Hornets as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant West Rowan was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-14, 25-7.

Leading West Rowan to victory were Ava Baxter and Brinley Hiatt. Baxter had eight aces and seven digs, while Hiatt had four digs and two aces. Those eight aces gave Baxter a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: West Rowan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

West Rowan's record is now 4-5. As for Salisbury, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Rowan will challenge rival East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Salisbury is set to take on their familiar foe Northwest Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
