Soccer Game Preview: Delphian vs. Dayton

The Delphian Dragons will venture away from home to face off against the Dayton Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Delphian barely beat Yamhill-Carlton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. Delphian have beaten Yamhill-Carlton the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Yamhill-Carlton has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Dayton kept a clean sheet against Taft on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Tigers. Dayton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by four goals or more this season.

Delphian's win bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Dayton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0-1.

Delphian might still be hurting after the 8-0 defeat they got from Dayton in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
