Newcastle strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Woodward Boomers by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Newcastle's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Woodward are ranked 54th).

Newcastle pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Woodward, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
