Baseball Recap: Skyview Wolverines vs. Aurora Central Trojans

Skyview scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Aurora Central Trojans as the Skyview Wolverines made off with a 17-7 victory. The result was nothing new for Skyview, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Skyview got a big performance out of Justin Contreras, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Humberto Chavez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

On Aurora Central's side, Emiliano Menchaca was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Michael Avila was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Even though they lost, Aurora Central was hitting in the alleys and finished the game with three doubles. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Skyview didn't hit any.

The win (which was Skyview's third in a row) raised their record to 10-5. As for Aurora Central, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyview will square off against Greeley West at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aurora Central, they will head out on the road to take on Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Aurora Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
