Soccer Game Preview: Wagner vs. Boerne

The Wagner Thunderbirds will face off against the Boerne Greyhounds at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wagner's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wagner came up short against Alamo Heights on Tuesday, falling 9-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as the Thunderbirds were already down 6-1.

Their goal came courtesy of Juany Corpus, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Boerne kept a clean sheet against New Braunfels on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Unicorns 1-0. That's two games straight that the Greyhounds have won by just one goal.

The win made it two in a row for Boerne and bumps their season record up to 10-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matchups. As for Wagner, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13-2.
