Annapolis and Chesapeake are an even 5-5 against one another  since October of 2015, but  not for long. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Cougars  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Annapolis didn't have quite enough to beat Douglass and fell  3-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 Annapolis actually scored more points across those five sets (105-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-23,  15-11.
Meanwhile, Chesapeake entered their tilt with Glen Burnie on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Gophers 3-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
 Chesapeake was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21,  25-15.
Chesapeake's win came from a few key players Annapolis will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Corinne Brandts, who  had five  digs and two  aces. That's the most  aces  she has posted since back in September.  Emily Curtin also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first assists of the season.
 Chesapeake  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with 14  aces. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they serve at least ten aces.
 Chesapeake's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Annapolis, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
 Annapolis took their  win against Chesapeake  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2024 by a conclusive  3-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success,  or do  the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
