Football Recap: Leake Central Comes Up Short

Leake Central lost against Morton back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gators fell 43-31 to the Panthers. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Leake Central still got an impressive performance from Javario Daley, who rushed for 143 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.

Leake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Morton, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Leake Central will welcome Velma Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Gators' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Morton, they will host Raleigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
