Volleyball Recap: Glenoak Starts Season with Defeat at Home

GlenOak unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Austintown-Fitch Falcons on Friday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

GlenOak was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Austintown-Fitch work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-19, 22-25, 25-10.

Austintown-Fitch can attribute much of their success to Elizabeth Sherwood, who had ten digs.

Coincidentally, GlenOak and Austintown-Fitch will both be playing Hudson the next time they take the court. The Falcons will head out to face the Explorers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Golden Eagles will play them later in the day, at 7:30 p.m.
