Recap: Holy Cross Knights vs. Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders

The Holy Cross Knights struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Holy Cross had to suffer through a rough 76-39 loss at the hands of Archbishop Stepinac. Holy Cross has struggled against Archbishop Stepinac recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Stanley, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Jacob Moreno was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Archbishop Stepinac found their leader in underclassman Jasiah Jervis, who scored 21 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Jervis scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Braylan Ritvo, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Archbishop Stepinac, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Holy Cross will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop Loughlin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Archbishop Stepinac's road trip will continue as they head out to face Cardinal Hayes at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Cardinal Hayes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Archbishop Stepinac likes a good challenge.
