Softball Recap: Shenango Takes a Loss

Shenango easily dispatched New Brighton on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of the Neshannock Lancers by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 19, 2025.

Jaylyn Herman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Shenango's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Neshannock, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Shenango will face off against rival Laurel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.7, the Spartans 0.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Neshannock is set to take on their familiar foe Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
