Volleyball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Comes Up Short

Cape Henry Collegiate was the 3-1 winner over Catholic when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Dolphins came up short against the Crusaders on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dolphins have suffered against the Crusaders since October 10, 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-21.

This is the second loss in a row for Cape Henry Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Cape Henry Collegiate and Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Dolphins will square off against Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (100 vs. 221). Meanwhile, Catholic (ranked 77th) will meet Hampton Roads Academy (ranked 383rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
