Softball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Comes Up Short

Colleton Prep Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 8-3 to the Holly Hill Academy Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 two weeks ago.

Colleton Prep Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elena Mathis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Brayli Stanfield, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Colleton Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Holly Hill Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colleton Prep Academy will take on Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holly Hill Academy, they will head out to square off against Northwood Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Holly Hill Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.8 runs per game this season.
