Basketball Game Preview: Frankfort Falcons vs. East Hardy Cougars

Frankfort has gone a perfect 3-0 against East Hardy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Frankfort Falcons will challenge the East Hardy Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

Last Monday, Frankfort lost to Turkeyfoot Valley Area on the road by a 82-68 margin. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 76th in West Virginia, while the Rams are ranked 274th in Pennsylvania).

Meanwhile, East Hardy was able to grind out a solid victory over Tygarts Valley on Friday, taking the game 49-37. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for Frankfort and nudges their season record down to 7-7. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for East Hardy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Frankfort didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against East Hardy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frankfort since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
