Southwest had won 14 straight games and Kyra Nelms did her part to make it 15 on Thursday. The Southwest Roughriders escaped with a win against the Alma Cardinals by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47 thanks in part to Nelms, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

Alma lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kamri Neal, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chayse Molzahn, who had three points along with nine boards and three steals.

Southwest's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.
