Baseball Recap: Blackman Blaze vs. Riverdale Warriors
Blackman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Riverdale Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-3 loss last Wednesday.
Andy Beveridge spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Jacob Adamson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Austen Leban, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Blackman's defeat dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Riverdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-14.
