Basketball Recap: Dr. Joaquin Garcia Takes a Loss

Dr. Joaquin Garcia lost against Calvary Christian Academy back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Calvary Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Teagan Wakefield led the charge by putting up eight points. Another player making a difference was Gabby Guida, who posted six points.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Dr. Joaquin Garcia and Glades Central will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025. Dr. Joaquin Garcia is facing Glades Central at the right time seeing as Glades Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Calvary Christian Academy and Boca Raton Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
