Arthur-Okaw Christian dropped their record down to 5-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 3-0 to the Mattoon Greenwave. The match marked the first time this year in which the Conquering Riders were not able to get on the board.

As for Mattoon, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

For Mattoon's part, they got a great performance from Hanna Griffin as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Griffin has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, Mattoon's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alana Perez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Coming up, Arthur-Okaw Christian will square off against Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mattoon, they will take on Monticello at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
