Baseball Game Preview: Beaumont Cougars vs. Yucaipa Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, Beaumont will face off against Yucaipa. The Cougars will face off against the Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Beaumont is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Beaumont is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Yucaipa on Tuesday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbirds.

For Yucaipa's part, Logan Pashman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. Pashman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Yucaipa's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landyn Von Kaenel, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Yucaipa hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Yucaipa moved to 13-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Beaumont, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
