Basketball Recap: Salem Wildcats vs. Wesson Cobras
After flying high against Woodlawn Prep last Friday, Salem came back down to earth. The game between the Wildcats and the Wesson Cobras didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 62-45. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cobras: they've now lost five in a row.
Kemari Brown had a dynamite game For Wesson., dropping a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards. Brown continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damarion Smith, who posted 14 points and four steals.
Salem now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Wesson, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Salem has already played their next contest, a 48-41 loss against Poplarville on the 2nd. As for Wesson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-50 victory against West Lincoln on the 2nd.
