Baseball Game Preview: Hilltop Lancers vs. Montgomery Aztecs

Hilltop is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Tuesday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Montgomery Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Hilltop is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Calexico just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Montgomery suffered their closest defeat since March 20th on Thursday. They fell just short of Monte Vista by a score of 5-3.

Marco Reyes was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Hilltop's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Montgomery, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Hilltop came up short against Montgomery in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, falling 4-0. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
