 Washington-Liberty came into Monday's   match having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past the Herndon Hornets  11-9. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Washington-Liberty also won the last time the pair played  back in April.
  Zoe Schroeder spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and seven unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in six consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Kaitlyn Fado, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Celia Anbinder, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI.
 Washington-Liberty's win  ended  a  six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 4-14. As for Herndon, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with that  defeat, which was their seventh straight  on the road.
 Washington-Liberty will  challenge Yorktown at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Herndon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
