Basketball Recap: Saint James Takes a Loss

If Saint James was feeling good fresh off their 86-31 takedown of Catoctin last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Saint James Saints lost 80-59 to the St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions on Friday. The Saints have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Saint James still got an impressive performance from Christian Gladchuk, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Yates, who posted 21 points.

Saint James' defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Saint James will square off against Sidwell Friends at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Sidwell Friends will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Saint James surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they will challenge Maret at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
