Baseball Recap: High Tech CV Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact High Tech CV can now relate to. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crawford Colts on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colts this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 back in March.

Andre Skiles was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for High Tech CV: the team is 7-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, Dyllin Ledezma was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. High Tech CV is 5-2 when Ledezma posts two or more runs, but 4-11 otherwise. Adrian Estrada was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

High Tech CV's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Crawford, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-13 record this season.

As of now, neither High Tech CV nor Crawford have any future games scheduled.
