Baseball Recap: Bangor Takes a Loss

Bangor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Gobles Tigers, falling 13-1. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Bangor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrance Payn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Bangor's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Gobles, they moved to 2-8 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bangor will challenge New Buffalo at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bison's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Gobles, they will take on Fennville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
