Volleyball Recap: Nederland Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Nederland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aurora West College Prep Academy Spartans. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Nederland wouldn't go down easily and took Aurora West College Prep Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-9, 14-25, 15-25, 15-13.

River LeMaster paced Nederland's offense, picking up 12 kills. LeMaster got some help from Reya Levy and her 11 assists. Naima Bullings and Roonagh Mannion kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Nederland's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Aurora West College Prep Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5.

Coincidentally, Nederland and Aurora West College Prep Academy will both be playing Twin Peaks Classical Academy the next time they take the court. The Spartans will host the Timberwolves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
