Softball Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

Taylor had lost eight straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-13 to make it nine. They lost 12-0 to the Riverview Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Griffins of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2021.

As for Riverview, their victory bumped their record up to 20-7-1. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Riverview's part, Megan Southward was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave Southward a new career-high in RBI (two). Brooklyn Klein was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

While Taylor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
