Volleyball Recap: Nazareth Area Takes a Loss

Nazareth Area came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Bethlehem Catholic Hawks. The Blue Eagles have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Nazareth Area was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-7, 25-17.

Kylie Shereba paced Nazareth Area's offense, picking up eight kills. Shereba got some help from Lorelai Castagna and her 13 assists. Castagna also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mallory Garland, each putting up two.

Nazareth Area now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.

Nazareth Area didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Liberty on the 6th. As for Bethlehem Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Freedom on the 6th.
