Basketball Recap: Fairfield Prep Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fairfield Prep can now relate to. They took a blow against the St. Bernard Saints on Tuesday, falling 97-41. While losing is never fun, the Jesuits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Saints are ranked second).

Fairfield Prep is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10. As for St. Bernard, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

Fairfield Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Bernard, they will square off against Staples on Thursday. Staples will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something St. Bernard surely won't give up without a fight.
