Basketball Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. Old Lyme Wildcats

Valley Regional lost against Old Lyme back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Valley Regional Warriors took a blow against the Old Lyme Wildcats, falling 74-47. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Wildcats are ranked 47th).

Tavis Filacchione and Rex Grabowski certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Filacchione posted 14 points, while Grabowski had eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Those 14 points gave Filacchione a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Troy, who earned four points and five rebounds.
