Baseball Recap: Union Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Albemarle last Tuesday, Union Academy came back down to earth. The Cardinals took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pro Stock Royals Academy Royals on Wednesday. The Cardinals were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Royals' pitchers proved too tough.

Union Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Pawl, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Pawl's first of the season.

With the loss, Union Academy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-8. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Coming up, Union Academy will square off against Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, they will challenge Grace Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
