Baseball Game Preview: Irmo Yellow Jackets vs. White Knoll Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Irmo will face off against White Knoll. The Yellow Jackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Irmo's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so White Knoll's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Irmo's win against White Knoll wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets had just enough and edged out the Timberwolves 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Yellow Jackets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cooper Starling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Irmo is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Irmo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Graham, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

White Knoll is on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11. As for Irmo, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
