Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Ravenna Ravens

Roosevelt has gone 6-1 against Ravenna recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Rough Riders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ravens at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Friday, Roosevelt had just enough and edged out Woodridge 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rough Riders.

Garrett Polcha tossed a big game, pitching 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Roosevelt is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Roosevelt saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Estep, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Ravenna can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Ellet a 2-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Jeriah Miller's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks.

Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Ravenna, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.

Roosevelt took their win against Ravenna in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 14-4 score. Do the Rough Riders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Ravens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
