Football Recap: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Lakeside Lancers        
        
		
             Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better  (just ask Moreno Valley). They put the hurt on the Lakeside Lancers with a sharp  49-28 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
  Trevon Williams continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 209 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in September.  Syree Matthews was in the mix  as well, providing Moreno Valley with two touchdowns.
 Moreno Valley was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 392  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 188  rushing yards in six consecutive  games.
 Moreno Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Carreathers Ahmir. Moreno Valley got some further help from  Malele Vaiolo: he picked up  two  sacks, made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss),  and defended a pass.
 Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Joaquin Guerrero Iii, who threw for 370 yards and four touchdowns.  Elijah Frazier also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.
 Moreno Valley pushed their record up to 7-2 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Lakeside,  they are  on  a  19-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
 Moreno Valley will head out on the road to  take on  Canyon Springs  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Canyon Springs will roll in looking for their  ninth straight  win, something Moreno Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeside, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Citrus Hill  at 7:30  p.m. Lakeside is facing Citrus Hill at the right time seeing as Citrus Hill is stuck on  a  four-game losing streak.
