Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Harriet Dean and Kaylee Heinen Lead Jefferson West to Victory

Jefferson West's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sabetha Bluejays as the Jefferson West Tigers made off with a 50-30 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted against the Bluejays since December 17, 2021.

Jefferson West was led to victory by Kaylee Heinen and Harriet Dean. Heinen went 6 for 11 to rack up 16 points, while Dean posted 12 points. The dominant performance also gave Heinen a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Addison Schwinn was another key player, putting up six points.

Jefferson West's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Sabetha, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers take on the Wildcats on Friday. As for Sabetha, they will take on Perry-Lecompton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
