Edison won the last time they faced Southside and things went their way on Friday too. The Golden Bears had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Bears.

Despite the defeat, Southside had strong showings from Gabriella Gallindo, who had nine digs and five aces, and Jolene Castillo, who had 13 digs, seven kills, and one block.

Edison's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Southside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Edison and Southside will both be playing Highlands the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Owls at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Golden Bears will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
