The Davidson Academy Bears will face off against the Manatee Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davidson Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Davidson Academy's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bolles on Wednesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Bears were not able to get on the board.

Davidson Academy got a good showing from Braxton Johnson, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Meanwhile, Manatee had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 6-4.

The team relied heavily on Max Mullett, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Ashton Hovda, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Manatee pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Davidson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
