Basketball Recap: White County Comes Up Short

White County lost against Greater Atlanta Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The White County Warriors were beaten by the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans 82-52. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Spartans are ranked 103rd).

Greater Atlanta Christian had a senior duo take command as Mario Hill Jr went 8 of 10 en route to 20 points in addition to eight assists and four steals and Mikey Carpenter went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points along with seven assists and five steals. Carpenter's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of KJ Braswell, who posted eight points and three blocks.

White County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Greater Atlanta Christian, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White County has already played their next contest (against Lumpkin County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Greater Atlanta Christian will venture away from home to take on Johnson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greater Atlanta Christian is facing Johnson at the right time seeing as Johnson is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
