 The Reserve Mountaineers had to endure  a  five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a  55-49 win over Animas  on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Reserve also won the last time the pair played  back in January.
 Animas lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Diego Renteria, who  scored 14 points along with three  steals. Renteria continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's  played.  Lemuel Mcdonald was another key contributor,  dropping  a double-double on ten points and 16  rebounds.
 Reserve's victory  ended a three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 4-19. As for Animas, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost 15 of their last 16 matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record  this season.
 Reserve will  square off against Mesilla Valley Christian School at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Animas, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  game, a  74-28  defeat vs. Quemado on the 20th.
