Soccer Game Preview: Soldotna vs. Kenai Central

The Soldotna Stars will square off against the Kenai Central Kardinals at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Soldotna comes in on five and Kenai Central on three.

Soldotna is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Homer.

Meanwhile, Kenai Central faced Monroe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Kardinals beat the Rams by a goal, winning 2-1. Kenai Central wouldn't have won without Sarah Baisden, who scored the game-winner.

Soldotna's victory bumped their record up to 11-4-2. As for Kenai Central, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Soldotna beat Kenai Central 2-0 when the teams last played last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
